However if you just don't like Thunderbird's general design, then that may not help because they did not change the core interface shape. If you like the MacOS Mail.app interface, I believe Geary ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geary_(e-mail_client)) is somewhat visually similar. I don't know if it is as powerful as Thunderbird or webmail services, so it may not support sorting. Unfortunately I can't comment on sorting. My mail service's (Fastmail) sorting rules appear to occur on their servers without caring about which mail client I'm using, and I haven't tried iCloud or Thunderbird sorting.
