The information is still valid. If you have trouble installing UMLS::Interface you should certainly contact us here. What you are installing now is in fact the UMLS, which is a necessary prerequisite, but not actually UMLS::Interface. So yes, for UMLS questions you should contact UMLS support, and for questions about UMLS::Interface and UMLS::Similarity you should contact us.
