hello

I forgot to let you know. Everything compiles
fine (glibc-2.5, perl-5.10.0, linux-2.6.24.4).

but while testing the bootcd built on etch I got this

failed to execute /init
failed to execute /linuxrc
Kernel panic not syncing no init found

the init however is available in initrd.

cpio -cid -I initrd gives
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Apr 7 12:45 bin
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 Apr 7 12:45 etc
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 619 Apr 7 12:45 init
-r-xr-xr-x 1 root root 15227728 Apr 7 12:45 initrd
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 Apr 7 12:45 lib
lrwxrwxrwx  1 root root       15 Apr  7 12:45 opt -> /z/linuxaux/opt
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Apr 7 12:45 sbin
drwxr-xr-x 7 root root 4096 Apr 7 12:45 usr
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 Apr 7 12:45 var

any ideas what causes this kernel error.

fyi:
on debian sarge everything compiles fine (except
perl-5.10.0) and the bootcd works.
