BTW, the initrd file of unattended-4.8rc5 is about 55MB ! This is 
because it contains kernel modules for SEVERAL kernel versions:

cpio -it < /tftpboot/kernels/unattended-4.8rc5/initrd | egrep -e 
'^lib/modules/[0-9.]+$'
lib/modules/2.6.25.3
lib/modules/2.6.25.6
lib/modules/2.6.25.9
lib/modules/2.6.26

Building from source (2.6.28.7): 23MB initrd file.

Please dot not forget "make clean" next time ;-)
