I agree: a new RC within few days will help a lot of people with their new
hardware; building unattended from source is not so easy and can be really
time-consuming.

BTW, we should provides more informations on building process and tweaks
related to major Linux distributions (RHEL/CentOS, Fedora, Ubuntu, Debian),
like a Wiki page.
A starting point could be describing the environment you use to build
"official" binary releases of Unattended.

On my side, I'm able to build it with CentOS4/gcc-3.4.6 but
with tricks on dosemu.

I also agree that my code has to be rewieded: "working for me" is
mandatory but not necessarily sufficient ;-)
