Hello, and many sorries for this completely out of date answer.
I'm currenytly re-reading this thread and trying to figure out what are your problems. * first of all, I do not understand why you're doing s/ln .../cp .../ in dosbin/install.pl : please read comments (in the code) related to the use of the 'ln' command.... ... Furthermore, having to patch this line of code means you are using the dosemu method and NOT the nt5x-install method (to put windows file on the local hard drive). Is it really your choice ?? * the description field of PCI output comes from the lspci project: I can't do anything for you if you feel the description is incorrect ("VIA High Definition Audio Controller" instead of "RealTek High Definition Audio Controller"). After all, a lot of hardware seems to be rebranded (like Sigmatel audio or winmodem / DELL for instance). Please notice that all matching by search-win-drivers.pl files is done against the content of .inf file ... could you send me a copy of the related .inf file and the corresponding output of search-win-drivers.pl ? And yes, you need and up-to-date kernel (of unattended project) with HDAUDIO support included/enabled. * I'm firmly convinced that your patches against dosbin/install.pl are not relevant but instead comes only from a side-effect of other stuff. Of course, I agree that It-works-for-me is not a sufficient argument ;-) regards, Pierre Bourgin ----- "Jens Geile" <jens.ge...@support.iserv.eu> wrote: > Hi, > > > >> if you are willing to test it, I will commit it but please report > back > > >> so I know that we are in a good shape > > > Ok, I've tested this a little further and would like to report all > my findings in one batch.
