Shad and I have noticed the same problem.  It seems to happen mostly
with XP, and mostly with fast (SMP or hyperthreading) systems.

Shad's workaround is to use a script to keep retrying the Z: mount
until it works.  We will probably incorporate something like this into
the next release.
