Cheers ;)

So far the stuff I got installes just fine if I run the install scripts by
hand and wait for the installer to finish before starting the next for the
oracle stuff we need to have installed (about 1 GB in total)

I got no problem with that so far, thou I wasnt the person that developed
the response files.

This is exacly what I dont want to do. Cause how long do I sleep it, if
we start 10 or 20 installations at the same time (or roughtly the same
time) how much slower will it be, how do my diffrent hardware platforms
affect the time I need to sleep the stuff, ect. and even thou I dont have
to be there while it runs, I still have up to 150 boxes to install this
way, and to many simutanious installs gets too slow, and I would have to
sleep it longer.

I would rather try the solution someone suggeted on some oracle forum,
namely either have a program waiting for a process to end, or use AutoIt
to look for the logfile which is the last thing the oracle installer do.

Any perlgenius got any brilliant ideas how to either look for a
process and then when it dont exist returns to the cmd prompt or wait for
a file to be created and then return to the command prompt ?
My experience with autoit is that I dont like it.

I dont, thou I tried to install Japanese NT once, I didnt succed ;)

btw. did I say I dont like Oracle ... their installer is bad, not suited
for unattended installations. One would imagen a big company like that
could do better. Ofcourse it could just be me that dont know how to get it
to wait until the installation is done before going back to the cmd
prompt.
