Hi, I am (very) new to
Unattended install and am looking forward to being able to rid myself of ghost
images. I am having trouble creating a bootdisk.iso using ver4.0a. I burnt a
copy of the default bootdisk.iso (that came with the distribution) successfully
on my winXP laptop. It works fine and I am able to remotely install WinXP to my
systems using it. However, I need to add a couple of drivers to the disk and
want to customize the autoexec.bat file for my
network. I have copied the
required files to my redhat 8.0 linux box and carefully followed the
instructions to alter the autoexec and add the drivers to the drivers directory
and Drivers.txt file. When I run make there are no errors. However, I do not
have a CD-burner on my linux box and so need to move the bootdisk.iso file from
the linux machine back to my laptop. When I burn the
updated iso file on my laptop, the resulting CD is non-bootable. Investigating
the differences I notice, the default iso that came with the distribution
created two directories on the CD namely CVS and ISOLINUX, while the
bootdisk.iso my linux box generated only creates the ISOLINUX directory (it does
contain all of the changes I made so I must be doing something right). Im
guessing the missing CVS directory is the
problem. My question is,
why doesnt the make procedure create a bootable iso and what can I do about
it ? Any help greatly
appreciated. Bernie
