Hi all,
Im running unattended (great tool by the way ;-) by booting from net using a dhcp & tftp server (linux boot disk) accessing the samba share on the same machine. All of this without problems (thanks to all of you). There is just one thing i came across, as i was experimenting with different versions of the same os when i tried to slipstream service packs AND patches (as i am installing from an unsafe network): I tried to spare space and symlinked the driver dirs into the different os directories. Unfortunately the script says it was unable to find any driver dirs, instead of diving into the symlink (yes, i have activated "follow symlink" in samba). Under Windows the symlinks works seamlessly... Any ideas? Well: as mentioned before this is no problem at all, as i used more than one XP-directory only for testing purposes and i dont want to mix W2K and WXP drivers anyway... PS: 2Pat: What about shipping the requirements for patch- slipstreaming along with unattended? It took me many hours to figure it all out... I think of a batch file which copies the necessary files into the installation point... Or is it forbidden (I mean by MS) to include patches or parts of them in unattended?
