Okay, I've managed to figure out at least partially what's going on:

I've stumbled upon a *weird* problem, that I'm sure only I am having, but I thought, for my own sanity, I'd throw it out into the ether. My otherwise brilliantly executed win2k3 installs are marred by this one flaw: the machine refuses to reboot after applying one particular update, unless you login through remote desktop.
After getting to a command prompt via the Special Administration Console* (guh), here is the remaining contents of todo.txt
C:\NETINST>type todo.txt %WINVER%-notips.pl .reboot mozilla.bat tightvnc.bat,cygwin.bat srconfig.pl --enable del C:\netinst\tempcred.bat autolog.pl --logon=0 .reboot
So, once I log in via remote desktop, the machine will immediately reboot, and then continue on its merry way.
Thoughts?
