Has anyone looked at what would be necessary to change in Unattended to have Windows install from a drive letter created with the SUBST command?
I never done that, but in WinXP (maybe Win2000, too) you can SUBST networked drives, too, which might be a nice variant, to not copy all the drives on the workstation - however, you need to keep some drivers, e.g. network and storage locally, if windows tries to install, when there is no network available.
However, how would you execute SUBST (in order to have the drive mapping installed) before the Windows hardware detection phase? I would think, it checks the INF files very early.
