I've known that pain. Reasons I've found for it have included (but are 
undoubtedly not limited to):

Bad original CD.
Spot of grime on original CD.
Error during transfer from CD to share.

Other causes (where error has usually been at random % points):

Faulty CD drive / hard drive / drive cable / RAM / network card / 
network drivers / network switch / network cable
EM interference causing transient errors on LAN.

I'd try cleaning the CD, and if that doesn't work try another CD. Then 
go through the other possibilities.
