As requested, the change I made that works is the following line in linuxboot/misc/master

This just extends the time given to acquire a DHCP address to 60 seconds. Sorry I don’t have the facilities to post /host an ISO.

Regards

Chris

Chris, can you post or submit a iso of your bootdisk. I'd like to try it. Or explain how you added more loops.

I fixed my D620 issue by adding more loops / slightly longer delay in
the dhcp get address area. The symptoms suggget one of two things

1) Driver init problem due to twin core in D620 ( My first though, but
now I' think this is a long shot )
2) speed negotitiation with switches as I get a number of speed messages
logged before it settles down on 1G.

I think it was the extra loops that did it as the speed changes happened
one per loop and always the same order.

Subject: [Unattended] 4.6 linux iso won't boot dell D620

Broadcom seems to have come out with a new NIC that requires a new
driver that the 4.6 linux boot iso doesn't have. It searches three eth's
and gives up. I've done extensive searches on the archives but can't
find advice on how to fix this, via DOS or linux. I'm definitely **NOT**
a linux admin... even simple linux things are often beyond me. If
someone can provide a boot disk known to work with the D620, that would
be FANTASTIC (try as I might, I could only find *references* to a 4.7
iso... I could not actually find the file). If there's a step-by-step
for updating the 4.6 iso, that would be very nice too, keeping in mind
if the instructions say something like "after you've opened the iso on
your linux workstation, compile in the new driver" you'll have lost me
three, maybe four times. Don't have the former at my house, don't know
how to do the latter.

Apologies, very frustrated here. I've tried to do everything right by
searching the archives a dozen different ways but just haven't found the
right string to lead me to the answer. Have found unattended
**EXTREMELY** useful on slightly older hardware, but this is a brand new
system for my wife, at home. Domestic tranquility is on the line here!
:)

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
