Nope, I got a line wrap in the dd command. Fixing that and it works. Ive attached the postinst.sh I use. As I wrote in another post in this thread, I have no other machines that reports 240 heads, so for me it is safe to use this script. A more correct solution is to put in a test in master/install.pl: if SATA and $LEGACY_BIOS_HEAD <> 255 then ask "Do a direct write fix in mbr and [that windowsthing] y/n" I do not have the time to code and test this right now.. We have all the information we need as environment variables in master, so it should be doable.
