The actual update pack is just a 7-zip file, so you should be able to open it and see the contents. The integrator executable is the automation wrapper that injects the contents of the .7z.
If you don't mind the horribly long time it takes to serially install all of the updates post-xp install, the default unattended script should work for you. I used to make it save the reboot for the end, which saved some time. If the error 246 isn't a critical error, you could put .ignore-err 246 in front of the particular update that is generating it. Many options, and they all suck.
