Hi,
I have multiple problems getting the automation to work. I read all
the docs and tried a lot to get that going, but I'm stuck.
(trying to install windows xp pro on a xen vm, but as far as I see the
virtualization should not be the problem, it could only lead to
problems in booting at all, but that happens correctly)
1) when I do/try my first install, I have at the beginning answered
the unattended question in thext mode from the boot iso.
After that, all files get copied to the system, and I have to reboot
without the boot iso. Then a windows setup starts, and copies again
some files, doing another reboot then.
Then, the usual setup process seems to run, but after a while it
starts asking me the questions again I already answered before.
So I get no automation at all currently, but even double questioning.
2) as far as I understood, the need to answer any questions manually,
even from unattend on the boot iso, should be removed by creating a
custom unattend.txt file.
I tried this in two ways:
a) edit lib/unattended.txt to fit my needs (e.g. add serial number and
the other stuff i've been asked)...
b) put a copy od unattended.txt into site/windows-xp-hvm.txt and try
to read that from config .pl with this line I added to the default
config:
$u->read (dos_to_host ('z:\\site\\windows-xp-hvm.txt'));
There seems to happen something there (at least I got an error wen
the filename was wrong), but still, I am asked alkl the questions
again by unattended when booting the iso.
(apart from the problems in 1) )
So I have massive problems currently getting any automation in, and I
am a bit lost as where to look for things I am doing wrong.
