Even if this list seems to be dead, I answer my question myself again, so people having the same problems might use it to come further (faster than I did - took me finally 3 days to get to my first install - it's O.K. for a powerful auto.installer, but would be more userfriendly if it worked better).

Seemed like I had just a typo in the product key, but I didn't realize that from the message I got when windows setup asked me. I just fixed the typo and the install ran through. Still taking aroung 4 hours for all the stuff, because there are quite some restarts and quite some data copying. The other problem I had, that I didn't found out how to make the install really unattended should really be addressed by the developers/doc writers: a simple sentence like "now copy the unattended.txt to site/ and edit your config, see in the distribution package html/cjohnson.html how to do that to get really automated. Sadly, cjohnson.html isn't on the web, and in general the html stuff isn't synchronized with the web, which is configusing, because the docs have very similar names. Hope that helps to make the docs better and get others an easier start. Apart from these, unattended seems to be some nice piece of software. A Class system like we have in the FAI Linux auto-Installer would be something nice to have, and some logging would be cool, also, so one could see what's happening and why installs fail or act in a specific way. Mailing list support seems also not to be very good - i saw a lot of unanswered questions(including mine), which is sad, and so people have a hard time getting started - I was just one step away from throwing the towel and trying again with ANI instead because it just didn't work, the docs were unclear, and nobody answered my questions...Maybe getting no answer in one day is not already very bad, but I'm used a lot better things (as well from gthe perspective of the one who asks and the one who replys and helps people).
