I have seen the same error, but that was when I used a newer version of 
busybox. I got around it with a dummy patch, witch I have somewhere..
..but that was an temporary hack just to see if a newer version of busybox 
would fix a problem. I sent it over if I find it..

And you have the patch packages installed since it gets rejected.
Very strange..

Yes, me :-)
Multiple times over an long period since etch was testing, with at least one 
build from scratch each week.. And on no less than 3 different machines.

What I have is a bit patched, and could use some testing.
