For this HD Audio codec I read on the web that there is an order to install the 
drivers.
What I did :
Decompress the Dell drivers.

Then extract (with 7zip for example) qfe.exe  located in 
i386\KB835221\2K_XP\ENU
And what is in commonfile :
i386\KB835221\2K_XP\ENU\qfe\commonfile
has to be installed first.

So i named this folder 1-xxxxx
And the driver (located in i386\SMAXWDM\W2K_XP ) named 2-xxxx

That solved the problem for me (had this on Optiplex 745 and 755 )
