For this HD Audio codec I read on the web that there is an order to install the drivers. What I did : Decompress the Dell drivers.
Then extract (with 7zip for example) qfe.exe located in i386\KB835221\2K_XP\ENU And what is in commonfile : i386\KB835221\2K_XP\ENU\qfe\commonfile has to be installed first. So i named this folder 1-xxxxx And the driver (located in i386\SMAXWDM\W2K_XP ) named 2-xxxx That solved the problem for me (had this on Optiplex 745 and 755 ) Ziad ----- Message d'origine ---- De : Nils Olav Fossum <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> À : unattended-info@lists.sourceforge.net Cc : [EMAIL PROTECTED]; Jens Geile <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Envoyé le : Jeudi, 3 Avril 2008, 17h02mn 36s Objet : Re: [Unattended] High Definition Audio Codecs Torsdag 03 april 2008 15:38, skrev Paul Griffith: > On Tue, 01 Apr 2008 18:11:19 -0400, Jens Geile <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Hi, > > > > I've got a little problem here and maybe someone can help me. > > > > I've got quite a few clients (couple hundred actually) (Windows XP) with > > a MSI K9VGM-V motherboard and a Realtek ALC883 soundchip onboard. > > > > My problem here is that I cannot get either unattended or WPKG to > > install the driver for this soundchip. > > Using unattended all the other drivers are installed successfully, only > > the soundcard just won't work. > > Using WPKG I tried the setup.exe with the /s parameter (the setup.iss > > file exists) as written in the readme that comes packaged with the rest > > of the driver but no luck.
