if you boot from network, you can easily put the network credentials in the
pxelinux.cfg/default file:
kernel blablabla *z_path*=//example_server/install *z_user=*example_user *
z_pass*=example_pass
using these options, the only place where the network credentials reside is
in this file. The security concern remains however, since everyone that can
do a tftp get can read this info, thereby gaining access to the install
share, that often contains the local admin passwords + the network admin
login/pass for domain joining :(
Maybe in some future version it would be possible to use some kind of
encryption to store the info, but even then...
I wonder how RIS deals with tis?
