That is exactly what will happen if the unbound is not release (and
it's not) with every (security/performace/etc...) update of ldns.

You will end up with unbound linked to some "random" version of ldns
available at the unbound make dist time.

If you keep the two decoupled you can upgrade (not downgrade) ldns
without recompiling unbound, and you should be more aware of what
version you have actually installed on your system.
