Yay Rhonda!
This is why I am so optimistic for our profession. Think how dramatically
reading instruction changed after Mosaic, Reading with Meaning, and Strategies
That Work. I bet we are heading down that same path. Way to go, Literacy
Leader! :-)

Anyways, a ninth grade global studies teacher and I presented at the North
Dakota State Reading Conference a couple of weekends ago. Our presentation
involoves reading in the content area. I give the "reading" stuff and she
shows the way it can be done and is done!
Well needless to say, I had to change our powerpoint (a week before) and
the focus on UNDERSTANDING. I even made a "reflection" sheet on fancy
paper to give as "homework". We totally promoted "To Understand" so I am
sure sales will be up in ND. (We didn't have Heinmann here-bummer).
I just so appreciate this book and the listserv to assist me in being a
fervent learner.
