I'm sorry I don't speak Japanese and I'm doing research on programming the
language utilizing UNICODE. I've recently learned about the different
scripts that Japanese utilizes: Hiragana, Katakana, and Kanji. I also
understand that under UNICODE the Japanese ideographs are included under the
CJK scripts. What I need to know is if Kanji is a subset of this CJK group?
If so where can I find a list of just the Kanji characters and their UNICODE
indices? It also seems to reason that if Japanese uses a combination of
phonetic and ideographic characters that there must be a subset of the most
commonly used Kanji characters, am I correct in this assumption? If this is
true where can I find a list of just these characters and their UNICODE
indices?
