 Excuse me, it is reliable; you just didn't read very carefully. I will try to emphasize this to make it more clear to you. There are two different processes: transliteration (which is by letter, irrespective of sounds produced by those letters) and transscription (which is by sound, irrespective of letters used to produce those sounds). If transliteration is what you mean, ...
