In fact, I think the most common reading would be ['ai 'i:], followed closely by ['ðæt 'iz] and much more distantly by ['id 'est]. Almost everyone knows that "i.e." means "that is" (except for the ones who confuse it with "e.g."), but not everyone can expand it to "id est" and even fewer would actually say it, for fear of sounding pretentious.
