fwiw, I put the pdf from netscape 6.2 and your web page, using James
Kass CODE2000 into a zip file on my web site:
http:/www.i18nguy.com/unicode/Middle-English.zip

So you can see the results.

The combining macron over the gh isn't complete, it is like a macron
over each letter individually.
The pdf might make it easier to discuss. If you want I can make one for
IE 6 or show it with the Unicode Arial MS font.
