There have been many interesting proposals put forth by TLG and discussed at the last few UTC meetings. Many of their characters for betacode will be eventually included in Unicode. Please see the TLG web site for more info - they have pointers to their proposals. You can read the UTC minutes on the UTC web site to see which proposals have been discussed.
