Indeed. Emoji characters apparently mean whatever their users want them to mean. Such meanings may be perceived differently by various users or communities, as the subject line indicates, and these meanings are subject to change without notice. Any effort to standardize such a conversion seems doomed, but someone with funding would probably try it anyway. Best regards, James Kass
