Aha! You caught me! In the recent CVS checkin of code for variable
initializers and private/local class variable syntax, there was some
nonsense code in the compiler in the case of a class with NO methods, which
occurs seldom, but does appear in canvcomp.icn. I have checked a fix into
CVS. Thanks for the report.

P.S. In case you were wondering, yes, it is embarrassing for such reports to
