Hmmm ... I still have 51 even if I manually remove the duplicate (see my other 
response).

BTW either SNN or the list is wrong.  Either NY spawned 4 additional states or 
NY became 4 states (and NY comes out of the list).  In either event I still get 
51 matches.

It's tricky.  I
 *think* the correct answer is 16 (15 new
matches).  (The fact that two of the new states share the same
name still means that there's only one name between them.)
