Does yours have diesel engines?

I have a 1971 36 SS and the starting procedure is thus:  (1) Shove key
in ignition; (2) Give throttles a couple of pumps; (3) Twist key all
the way to the right; (4) Release when engine catches; (5) Repeat for
other engine.   :^p

Seriously, I don't get the "toggles on the dash" or the "keys in the
power panel" you described, which was why I asked if you had diesels.
Some diesels use a fuel cut-off solenoid to shut down, which may
explain the keys in the power panel.  Frankly, though, this sounds a
lot like a previous-owner-klooge.
