hi all....been reading posts here for several years and had my first Q that i need help with: i have a 34' convertible i have owned for a few years. I went to change out the shaft packing last weekend...i used a dentist pick and couldnt find ANY packing left inside the brass nut! then i went to install 3 or 4 wraps of 1/4" packing and could only fit ONE wrap inside the brass nut housing....everything i have read says 3 or 4 wraps of shaft packing....what size of packing and how many wraps do you guys have at the prop shaft?
