You arent going to believe this. The #...@! Mechanic was messing with the tank
ball valves and had opened up the empty starboard tank again! Ah! At least I
know how to fix it now. :(

Hi Kerry,
If you have fuel and the engines are stalling one and then the other, it sure
sounds like you have a fuel proble= m. If a Detroit has fuel it will run, maybe
not great, but it will run.
First check your Raycor filters, the filter  may be clogged even if you just
changed them., you might have = bad fuel. Drain the sumps on the Raycors and
see if they have a lot of water or sludge. If the Raycor’s are empty, check
your feed lines, fittings an= d valve fitting connections running from the fuel
tank to the raycors. You co= uld have a split some ware and sucking air. If you
have the original fuel lines they may be pores due to age. If the Raycor’s are
full, and the filte= rs are not clogged, than remove the filter on the engine
and see if it is full= . Of course there are other things like a clogged fuel
tank vent, cracked pick u= p tube in the tank, etc. I would look first for
loose fittings or cracked fittings in the fuel system first.
Also check that the air filters are no= t clogged or the emergency shut off is
not activated

Just some things to check.<= /span>
Good luck and be SAFE.

Yup. I am anchored right now just north of Blake island. After 350 in service
in Poulsbo I took off with two running motors. As I go= t out of Rich Passage I
lost the port engine but starboard was still motoring strong. 35mph winds and
4-6ft seas. Just headed toward Blake I lost the sec= ond engine. So here I sit
anchored. Hanging out with my dog. Vessel Assist is 9= 0 minutes out and I am
getting rocked like I were crossing the Strait on a ba= d day. Man am I going
to sleep well tonight. Anyone know a top notch diesel mechanic in South Sound
that knows these darn Detroits?

 Kerry

PS - clutchs in the windlass gave out so I have to cut loose 200 of new cha=
in and a new 45lb CQR anchor. This is turning into a very expensive day.
