So here is a new one for me. I have my boat in my yard in GEORGIA, but the fine folks in CALIFORNIA have sent me a sales and use tax bill for my Uniflite. She is a CG registered vessel and all I can think of is that the California tax board searches the CG database on a regular basis for ownership transferrs and then sends out a tax bill.
I told them that I will not be bringing the vessel to California, EVER and then they want all osrts of paperwork to prove it. I do not even have the boat insured yet, because it is in my YARD! Any one else have an issue like this. looks like I will have to correspond with them before they go away!
