I have a 1979 42 DCMY with 671's. I have three banks of batteries. One
bank of two batteries are starting batteries for the engines. one of
the two has died, so my question is why do I have two batteries, one
for each engine. I was asked this when going to purchase a new one.
Is there a reason I have two batteries when one would do the trick. I
have two other banks of batteries to run a parallell if needed with
one set of the other bank.

Thanks.
Monty.
