Hi,
No mater what kind of boat you have, the inverter needs to be as close to
the battery as possible. It makes no difference how far the 120V is away
from the inverter. Make sure you use the "correct" size wires from the batt
to the inverter and they should be "directly" from the batt and not thru the
circuit panel for 12V power for the inverter.

I have an '83 36' aft cabin with the forward lower dinette. I am
finally going to install an inverter. I will be removing the original
Professional Mariner battery charger that is located in the engine
room, forward bulkhead port side. I'm asking for input from the
membership as to the location of installed inverters on 36 aft cabins.
Additionally if you have any Pro's or Cons of the location it would be
greatly appreciated. I am building a lower helm station on the port
side and I'm contemplating installing on the floor under the station.

Your input would be greatly appreciated.
