Bill and Liz, I have a 42' with Delco Remi (sp?) alternators. The same thing happened to me and upon investigation I found that one of the small wires (those coming out of a "T" shaped connector on the back of the alternator) had broken. Fortunately, (I think) it was one that did not cause the alternator to be damaged. I repaired the wire and all worked as before. My experience doesn't mean that the same happened to you, but at lease it is worth a look.

My question is the Starboard Battery Light remains lit after mains start also, the hours meter was working now no longer. Onboard I have a Lewco battery charger, and Onan7.5 KW gen set which both will keep the batt charged. What I trying to figure out is the STBD alternator bad or voltage regulator? I think I have isolation diodes thrown in the mix also. My batt setup is two banks of 2 6 volt batts one bank for each main. Perko on/off isolation switch. Need some neat precise help on this or I'll have to throw obscene amounts of money at it.
