30 1/2" on the height of the salon windows is stretching it. If I
recall, on my '72 36 aft, the glass was around 28.25. The tracks and
frame might add another 1 to 1 1/2 inches. When I had the original
440s replaced, they cut a hole in the salon roof which necessitated
new headliner and fiberglass work on the panel that was removed. The
second time, the mechanic stripped the engines down to the block and
was able to rig a hoist to take them out the door. Was able to do it
with the heads removed. Had to do the same with the rebuilt BBFs.
No way to get the engines in through the windows since we also needed
a crane or I-beam to carry the engines within the same height.

I would be interested to hear how you plan to get diesels in that way.
