This is the impeller that moves the raw water through the system, my screen/filter deteriorate and let pieces of wood and seaweed through into the impeller and eventually it clogged the pipe leading to the impeller. So it ran dry, I caught it in time, no engine damage. Took off the cover plate to remove the impeller and it has missing fins, a direct result of debris being allowed to make it to the impeller. These are shaft driven. I have taken a screw driver and tried to remove the impeller but with no results so I thought I would ask before I take the entire assembly apart....I'm going to see if I can fit a small puller I have..doing that today...but any ideas would be helpful. Thanks guys Monty.

Very soft material in there. I agree with The Capt. lube lube lube. Also check the rotation of the pump I believe the vanes should be bent opposite to the rotation. Think pushing the water into the engine. When an impeller gives up it may have a few other problems. I have one that is going through a major rebuild. The shaft bearing gave up causing the shaft to spin inside the bearing. If that was not enough then the outer seal assembly gave up and although the pump was still pumping it was spraying water into the bilge at a alarming rate. I had purchased a spare pump some time back but when trying to install it would not fit the pedestal. Both sides of the base needed to be milled to fit the pedestal so that it could be adjusted for proper belt tension. There are Jabsco pump diagrams online at Jabsco marine circulation pumps. It may be easier to remove pump and check shaft bearing and seals prior to installation. NOTE: It may be difficult to see a leaking pump with the belt guards on. Hope this is clear and not confusing.
