I'm looking for someone with a sistership so I can determine my correct prop size. I have a '73 36 DCMY with 440s, velvet drive 1.52:1. The props that are on there are 4 blade, 18x15. I can't get the max rpm for these engines of 4000. I've got too much wrapped up in these engines not to be able to get more than 3000. Mechanically I'm sound. Just want to make sure I'm in the ballpark with running gear.
What are others with like power using for props and are you getting your rpms? Prop shop thinks I should go 17x14.
