Waterguy reminded me of something in his last post. It's the #*!*#!! teak railing top around my aft cabin roof. I refinish it each year (at least 5 coats of epifanes varnish) and it almost always requires a complete resanding because of splitting and discolorization. I really like my uncovered slip which has a great view of lake Union without leaving the dock -but it gets the weather. The cost has always been lots of waxing and this railing work every year.
At some point I am going to have to replace the railing because it is getting sanded to a point where it will just disappear. What choices do I have? I tried Cetol once and it was much more resistant to the weather but just didn't look as good as varnish. I guess I could cover the railing with sunbrella but it seems to defeat the purpose since the damage is primarily from the sun -when I use the boat. Your thoughts are always welcome. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "UnifliteWorld" group.
