So you guys just pulled out those zincs all together and plugged it? No
side effects?

Hi Monty,

That zinc is a pain in the ass

On some stormy night that you are bored out of your mind and you need to
change or inspect your impeller I would change it. Otherwise, what is one
more thing wrong, HA, HA

Hey there Capt Perry, Monty here..I have 671s and just replaced my zincs
after I had one, that I didn't know about, break off just ahead of my
impeller and destroyed my impeller ..our resident marine mechanic told me he
sees this all the time and that it's not that necessary to replace that on
so I didn't..that is my personal choice of course...just a heads up to that
last zinc tube near the draw side of the raw water impeller.

Monty.

Look for zinc heads that take a 7/8" wrench. There may also be some smaller
ones on heat exchangers

Thanks for the quick reply. Looks like I will be making a run back to the
fitting ship. I bought all 3/8" fittings and valves yesterday. Doh! By
the way, I have the Detroit 71 service manuals and they dont list that
anywhere that I could find. You wouldn't have a list of the zincs for that
engine too would ya?

Thanks,

Kerry

Can anyone tell me the diameter needed for the fuel lines for the Detroit
6-71's? I want to finish up my electric primer pump and fuel polishing
installs next weekend and need to know what size brass fittings I will need
to buy.

Thanks,

Kerry
