I once went a little over 60 nm with a 9.9hp Yamaha pushing my 27' Express
Cruiser at about 3.5 knots after the main engine blew.  Very relaxing.

I would rent / buy a cheap outboard motor, mount it on the swim
platform, wait for good weather and putt the 50 miles to my marina.
Then when finished with the boat, I would have a kicker for trolling
etc, and or just sell the outboard.
