This is the original chart that came with my 42 dcmy. 

25 ft.  White
50 ft. White,red
100 ft.   White,red,white
150 ft.   Two red
200 ft.   Three red
250 ft.   Four red
280 ft.  Solid red (end of the chain)

I use 4 different combination of colors and never seem to remember
what they mean without referring to my cheat sheet.

I never refer to the cheat sheet because the chain is marked every 20
feet - so I just count them going out. If I need 120 feet out I count
6 markings and I'm good.

I do remember one set of marks. The repeated red markings mean STOP.
