The lower helm is simply tied in with T- fittings, which means it could easily be eliminated (or one added on for that matter). There is no "switch" to activate a helm like I have heard others mention-all controls are live at both stations at the same time. When you turn one wheel the other does not turn, as turning the wheel is powering the helm pump-which also means that someone could be fighting with you from the lower helm while you are trying to steer from the upper. Its a very simple system and I find it to be really reliable, all there is are the helm pumps, the piston, and the completely conventional connecting tubing-hydraulic hoses and copper lines. a friend of mine has a bertram 28', which is kinda like the mega, and he told me the visibility from the lower station was so poor he eliminated it for more cabin space, so you might consider that before restoring the lower helm good luck, Tom in Florida -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "UnifliteWorld" group.
