Ay, gevalt. Just thinking of of pumping out the gas with a drill (with the motor brushes sparking merrily on the armature) give me the willies.
Does your 34 SS have glassed-over 2x4's as deck supports running from the stringers outboard of the engines to the underside of the cockpit deck? I'm thinking I'm going to have to cut those out to get the tanks out, and I'm afraid the engines are going to have to come out: Chrysler 440's - wide suckers, and I'm afraid that sliding to one side isn't going to give me enough room. Oh, wait. I just re-read your post - you pulled them out and set them on the deck or hatch above the engine that was still in place, right? Got it. I bet it listed :) I'm probably going to have a yard do the work, just because I'm too busy at work right now. Who was your fab guy on Hayden Island? I was also surprised to read that your stainless tanks had cracked. I was thinking of going with stainless, but now am not so sure.
