I have all that you mentioned except the burned out maserator pump.  I was
about to change the sanitary hoses for the pumpout and I tried to determine
what the small line was for, but failed.  It has a small thru-deck opening
(~1") next to the pumpout thru-deck.  I cannot pull anything through it nor can
I pour anything down it.  I have been meaning to ask the same questions on this
forum, but I never got around to it.

My maserator pump empties the holding tank overboard -- it came from the
factory that way.  My entire holding system is under the water line and as you
say, if one leaves the valve open the holding tank will flood and leaks on the
top cause a nasty mess.

I am considering a sanitary system to treat my waste.  I like the type that
does its own batching and  I can use my existing tank.  The overboard pump that
comes with the system will go to the current overboard valve via a u-tube which
is above the waterline, as many head installations require.

I eagerly await any answers you receive about your inquiry.

Hi to all you Uniflite experts,

OK so I have extra hull fitting from the macerator pump up to the
deck.  Do you have one?

What is it used for?   Do I keep it?

My current Jabsco 12V Macerator Pump is burnt out and not pumping
out.  I'm being told that they burn out.  It runs and spins but does
not pump out.   Matter of fact if I leave the thing with the Through
Hull open it will fill my holding tank with sea water!  Not Good.  Or
do you just change the impeller?

I was thinking of taking out the several "T" fittings and putting in
"Y" fittings and am now told by my boat mechanic that Y valves are not
dependable long term and lose proper seal after a while.  Not good for
at or below the water line.  And he wants to take out the option of
going up to the second smaller pump out point with the Effluent under
pressure from the macerator pump.

So the topic of redesigning the plumbing off the holding tank is now
on the top of the Fix-It list.  Would appreciate your inputs or photos
of the right ways to solve this problem.
