I have a big Bruce anchor with 2" chain and use a simple stainless roller pulpit similar to the Windline BRM Bow Roller for Bruce/Claw Anchors. Works great and doesn't add too much footage to the "Overall" length. My winch is horizontal rather than vertical. Unsure if that makes a difference.
