Well, I found out my problem and it ain't good. I had a mechanic come by the
house and do some diagnosing and found I had number 3 and number 6 cylinders
had no compression. I got out my air compresser and he ran air thru the 3
and 6 spark plug holes on at a time and air blew thru the carb.
According to him this means the the intake valves on those cylinders are
stuck open.

So, we pulled off the heads and checked the springs, they were good, but
after they were totally off you could see that the valves were being sucked
in.
The heads are at a good machine shop, (they rebuilt my Onan 3kw and stand by
their work) not the one that rebuilt the motors. Theres only about 61 hrs.
on these motors and my mech. said it looks like he used used parts, as the
valves were 2 different brands and didn't look good. Also the head gaskets
looked like they were for a car. I didn't know there was a difference.

Of course the rebuilder is no longer around so I can't confront him.

So I should have the heads back in a week with correct gaskets and I'll let
you guys know how it goes.

In the meantime can anyone reccomend a good product to clean the antifreeze
and smell out of my bilge? :))

Have a good weekend, Trace
